Debian 9.13 Stretchを実行しているGoogle Cloud Platform DebianインスタンスにNPMをインストールしようとしています。ただし、使用しようとすると、$ sudo apt install npm次のメッセージが表示されます。

問題を見つけるためにデフォルトのソースリストを使用し、標準コマンドを複数回$sudo apt install -f npm実行してみました。sudo apt updateどんなアイデアがありますか？この問題に関するバグレポートも見つかりませんでした。

npmやや珍しいことに、デフォルトのDebian 9リポジトリではなくStretchバックポートでのみ使用でき、バックポートの追加パッケージが必要です。後者はデフォルトのインストール候補ではないため、aptこれを考慮するように通知する必要があります。
sudo apt install -t stretch-backports npm
