ソースからUbuntuまたはDebianにdaemontoolsをインストールする方法

daemontoolsUbuntu 10.04サーバー（64ビット）にDJBをインストールしています。

UbuntuとDebianリポジトリからdaemontoolsをインストールできることを知っていますが、自分でコンパイルするにはどうすればよいですか？
