私はAskUbuntuで同様の質問を何度も見ましたが、ほとんどの答えはunity-helpersやgconf ... canonical ...などに関するもので、実際には機能しないようです。
問題は、gdmからlightdmへの移行を決定したことです。はい、うまくいきます。ただし、背景画像を設定できません。常に画像を黒の背景色に置き換えます。

解決策が見つかりました。
お気に入りの壁紙を選択してaliceinwireが提供するディレクトリにコピーしました。
sudo cp your-wallpaper.jpg /usr/share/backgrounds/lightdm.jpg
